The Third Telethon Event Hosted by the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan Succeeded to raise 3.67 Billion Rs making the total Fund up to more than 10 Billion for the flood victims
The Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the chairman of the Pakistan Tareeq-e-Insaf (PTI) started the three-hour-long telethon for raising money for the people affected by the floods in the areas of KPK and PUNJAB in Pakistan.
The ex-prime Minister stated that his purpose for the donation was to collect enough money to build some necessary dams,
” The sole solutions to prevent the catastrophe caused by the flooods is the construction of new dams”

Pakistan contributes less than 1% to the carbon footprint but still, it faces the worst consequences of all, added Imran Khan,
” we have pushed ourselves to clamity by not building more dams”
The Floods caused by back-to-back monsoon rains in Pakistan have proved to be even worse than the floods of 2010, causing more than 1000 deaths and hundreds of Billions worth of damage to the affected cities.
33 million people are severely damaged by the floods, the majority being people from the below poverty line, which has made their conditions even worse, considering the fact that they do not have any shelter, food, or clean water to drink.
Telethon Fundraising by Imran Khan and its impact
In such devastating times, PTI chairman Imran Khan started the three-hour-long telethon, pleading with the country and the Pakistanis living abroad to donate money to help their brethren in their time of need. People from all over the country and overseas Pakistani participated in the telethon and spoke directly to Imran Khan via telephone calls to offer their donations for the flood affectees.
The Third Telethon held yesterday succeeded to raise 3.57 Billion Rs. This money in addition to the 10 Billion Rs collected in the previous two telethons will be distributed to the flood victims with full transparency. Dr. Sania Nishtar elucidates the need and the importance of the digitalized system that would ensure the fair distribution of the funds,
“We will be uisng these funds in a transparent manner and will devise a system that will bring transperency in thier utilization”
Famous Celebrities, politicians, and influencers took part in this telethon to spread awareness, ask for donations and contribute their own share.
The Catastrophic floods have caused massive damage to the country’s economy, which was already on the verge of deterioration. building and offices coming down, homes being destroyed, and entire cities being underwater has caused massive migration processes all over the country, which is further burdening the economy. Different organizations have shown their concerns and are contributing to the relief of the flood affectees.
Imran Khan’s popularity as a politician and a former cricketer has attracted millions of people from all over the world to contribute to the TELETHON FUNDRAISER and help the flood affectees.
